Mystery in Belgrade

A quick look into the air museum located at Belgrade airport, Serbia this week, I found this mysterious part, bearing USAF Star and Bar and U S Air Force lettering.

Is it from something American, if so …what ? The ‘bullet’ fairing makes it loook like some ICBM.

Looks like the starboard tailplane and bullet from the top of a TU-154’s fin. I think the USAF markings are a red (or at least a Warsaw pact) herring.

A vertical stabilizer or part of a wing with a Tupolev-style landing gear pod?
I can’t image what USAF aircraft it would be off of, and the placement of the insignia certainly isn’t standard.

A left over prop from a film or some propaganda display?
