Hallucinations?

This thread has just reminded of an incident a couple of weeks ago- not really historic aviation related but it made me smile, me and my other half were on a week away- we were staying at bath and on this particular day we were driving to cheddar gorge, on the way there a c130 appeared from nowhere and flew quite low over the car, I was impressed with this (it was probably going to be the most exciting thing that I was going to see all day) and I shouted ”looks like a Hercules” to which she immediately replied “yes it was” well my missus will always come with me to air shows or aircraft museums and the like but she has never taken any real interest in any of it so I was surprised that she even knew what a Hercules was “I’m impressed” I said “ what makes you so sure it’s a Hercules” to which she replied with a really confident look on her face “because its bigger than a SPITFIRE”

Several reports of low-flying C-130s around this time.

More mysterious is that despite numerous ‘witnesses’, no-one managed to get a photo of it!

Misidentification. Its never a C130, its always a Lanc and therefore a ghost.
