Mystery Luftwaffe Spinner(?) Help needed please….

Hello folks,

Brought in to the Museum yesterday is this weird beastie – not quite sure what it is – looks like a prop spinner – has a German feel about it – any ideas?

Many thanks

Thanks Ant- will have a dekko through my bomb books. Owner said it belonged to his father who was in North Africa – beyond that not a scooby!

It looks much more modern to me, possibly the nose-case from a bomb of some sort? I think the black and yellow rings denote the type of bomb and the filling etc, hence why I say bomb rather than fuel tank. Yellow indicates high-explosive if I remember correctly.
