I wonder if anybody can help identify the item in the attached photos.
It must have a very specific purpose, but I no idea what.
It is attached to a “Remove before flight” tag and operates as a plunger mechanism, with the narrow diameter pin springing into the body of the tube. The tube itself then slides backwards and forwards through the collar in the mounting plate. The mounting plate has the two thumb screws to attach to something or other.
