Mystery object – airframe bulkhead?

Ello,

Found this out walking on an old aerodrome and the shape made me wonder if it might be an aircraft bulkhead? It’s about 70cm across at the widest point and from the staining it appears to of had something rectangular mounted to the front and some sort of pipe fitting above. Edge is rolled back and has series of small holes around it as if it’s been riveted or nailed to something.

The only other holes apart from the one in the centre are a few dotted here are there near the edge about 5mm in diameter which look rather random as if they’ve been added by a farmer recycling it for another purpose. No stamps or lettering anywhere on it. Material seems to be aluminium or some other alloy.

Aerodrome itself was used mainly by Tiger Moths and Miles Masters if that helps.

Would have said Moss Monaco, but that had a one piece fibre glass body. Not my brightest moment.

Hmmm… sounds about right actually. Wasn’t convinced it was aircraft related but the shape dig give me pause for thought.

As AW says, looks like a number plate rectangle with light above and side/rear light hole drillings…….the back end of some old aluminium bodied special car, 3 wheel Morgan, motorcycle sidecar, or whatever ??

I have to say I think the rectangle and the shape above it look like it could have been “staining” from a number plate and associated illuminating light… Sorry not much help I know..
