I’ve been scratching my head on this for some time it was in with my fathers effects I believe it is wartime I think Nov 5 194? stamped on the other side 24 volts and the numbers S.1231612 it’s very precision engineering and well made.

Well it’s a motor, apparently driving nothing but a flywheel, with bearings for a gimbal? Looks like a gyro to me. Could be marine too of course.
