Mystery Panel found in Scrapyard Nov 22?

This panel was found in a scrapyard on Nov 22, 1978. I know what this panel is from, but do you? I am very happy to add this to my collection, thanks Darrell

Well done , yes a Victory Aircraft built Lysander panel remains. I was visiting my good friend Vince O Connor and he supplied me with this piece. The story goes a scrapyard in Quebec in the 1970s still had Hurricane , Harvard and Lysander remains, a place where they had scrapped many. Jack Arnold bought all the Hurricane stuff and Vince bought the Lizzie stuff, I found it very odd how he wrote the date of Nov 22nd on the panel and 31 years later is handed to me, the Lizzie panel remains had been lost for a number of years and just reacquired recently by Vince and handed over to me which I was happy to take. Thanks for those that were interested, Darrell

Perhaps someone could ‘eagle eye’ these two pics. Found recently in a farm barn amongst a pile of agricultural rubbish. Smells of Mosquito, but thats only a guess.

If you compare these to the Avspecs mosquito rebuild website, they are not mosquito firewalls or bulkheads.

You’re right, I was reading the slightly misleading thread title and thought it was discovered yesterday, and thinking that was the main reson for the post – going for a lie down now.

It was found in 1978 though wasnt it? Me thinks stuff like that isnt found anymore, especially in that good state.

Haven’t a clue what it is from, but isn’t it amazing, and encouraging, that you can still find the odd item like this lurking in a scrapyard – well done Darrell.

Early Lysander I think. The shape matches a MkIII and the Ki Gas, limitations plate and some of the knob holes(!) all match. I’ve only got a MkIII photo though and yours has no hole for the oxygen gauges.

would that faint scribble in the upper left about ‘Lysander panel’ be a clue as to its origin?? 😉

nice find
