A third panel seeking an identification if you can help. Photos show the front and back.

Looks like the sort of panel that would sit on top of the wing covering up the flaps when they’re retracted.

The panel measures 1062mm long x 768mm high.

Pretty irrelevant but what are the dimensions?
Also Anon – YB8 – is that UK specific manufactured Phantom bits?? (Sorry to hijack the thread a little) I have come across it previously in the manual Wing Fold mechanism..

Sadly, not. We’ve looked all over it and can find no numbers on it anywhere.

Phantom?
Or 53, or, possibly, YB8 – but it’s not Phantom.

Any numbers on it? If it’s Phantom it may well start 32- …

Not Phantom
Pretty sure the panel is not Phantom.
Phantom panels are either open-framed on the back for stiffness or chem-milled thicker sheet. As far as I am aware all but the smallest Phantom panels are stress panels, i.e. they are structural and fastened all the way round, not with tuck-in edges like the one in the pic.
Post War types (inc. jets) had these panels here and there (my Meteor has a few of them) so it’s probably something 50’s/60’s jet. Modern stuff is more robust and of thicker section.
I’d say it’s probably from a US aircraft as well.

I’ve had a look at a Phantom and could find no panels that even came close to matching this. It maybe that it is Phantom and I’ve just failed to spot it, but I’m now not convinced this is from a Phantom. Does anyone have any ideas of what it might be, and ideally an image as evidence to show where it is from?

Yeah, I’d go with Jet and American origin.

Looks a bit like it’s off a jet to me…

I don’t know why but for some reason I thought this might be either Phantom or Bucc. I’m surprised no-one seems to recognise this.
