Mystery Part

Hello All,

Does anyone recognise the attached part, believed from a Miles Martinet, but could well be a generic part shared with other types. The only markings are E 8 6 in a circle and NM, the curvature at the base could well be damage. Does anyone have any ideas?

Kind regards,

Tim

If it has no identifiable numbers on it, then I seriously doubt that it’s from any thing to do with aviation. Tracability is the name of the game after an accident.

Obviously for holding something spherical. Not sure it is aero, though.

Thanks for the replies, I should add there are no numbers on the item, and its cast alloy.

Cheers Mike

Hello Anne,

Many thanks for the reply and the identification, due to your assistance I have located the part on the harness. Thanks once again and another example of this forum at its best.

Kind regards,

Tim

Not an aircraft part but a clip from an observer’s parachute harness. This holds the clip to which you attach the chest parachute.
