It’s unusual of me to be asking this sort of question, but I am hoping someone on the board will be able to clear up a minor mystery for me.
I have several of the fuse boxes seen here. For years, I have casually accepted it as being a fuse box with the Air Ministry Stores reference of 5C/1963.
However, I now realise that 5C/1963 refers to the fuse (Type N) which lives inside the box.
So my question is, does anyone recognise this unit and can you tell me what aircraft it might be from?
I am now satisfied that it is not a standard Air Ministry fuse box. There are numbers stamped onto the rear, including:-
“FES 2 1 1SF” and “30366 52”
If any of the above rings bells for you, I’d be grateful to hear the details.
Thanks in advance!

Are you gonna display anything at CockpitFest?
Extremely unlikely. Offered to take the control columns to the 2004 event provided they could be displayed alongside our Aeroboot stall, to save on the burden of supervision etc.
Was told that “The Committee” had decided that the Aeroboot should be seen as distinct from the Cockpitfest, so we would have had to man two seperate positions. Just too much hassle, so we decided not to bother.
Could be from any aircraft really as they were generally a standard item
Thanks Digby, but there is no Air Ministry Reference No. on the fusebox, which is why I suspect it is not a standard item “from any aircraft”.

Could be from any aircraft really as they were generally a standard item so it be from any aircraft that flew same as when people say a 7 day clock is from a particular aircrat it probably aint unless it is removed from a particular aircraft and have witnesses.
