Can anyone tell what this part is? At first i thought it might be some sort of tool from a Gun Turret but now I am not sure?

Cees I am wondering what was used to keep the end with the loop secured, on the one in the pic there is vestigal remains of thin wire or something?

This one looks intact, it’s noting but a piece of thick steel with an angle at one end and a loop as a handle at the other. That’s it.
