Can anyone ID this? I guess it was about 1 1/2 to 2 feet long and appeared to be some type of pump or compressor, I was thinking some type of fuel pump or aircon gizmo although they are both guesses.

That would make a lot of sense; gas-generating cartridge in far-left, gas-exhaust outlet, auxiliary (starting?) compressor and then direct-drive for turning-over main jet-engine shaft(s).
I take-back what I said about diesel-engines…..unless…

Thanks for the suggestions Creaking Door.
I was looking at it a bit more, is it possible that its a cartridge starter from a jet engine, the cartridge being inserted in the part on the left and the part on the right being attached to the engine, I can’t really explain all of the inlets/outlets coming off though.

Looks a lot like a turbo-supercharger; turbine and exhaust on the left, compressor in the centre and on the right…..er…
…not sure what it would be coupled to at that end; something generating a fair amount of torque judging by the mounting bolts. A power take-off of some sort, possibly even to a crankshaft?
Heat sensor or oxygen sensor on the exhaust inlet? Exhaust gas recirculation? Maybe not. One hell of a size if it is a fuel-pump.
Looks more like something you’d find on a diesel engine than a jet engine; I don’t think it is off a piston aero-engine but I could be very, very wrong!
