Mystery radar wreckage 389th Hethel museum

spotted at 389th Hethel museum,  any suggestions particularly if ww2 or post war? Museum member thought it was B17 supercharger controls which I’m sure it is not as there is a rectangular wave guide in there! It is approx 2ft diameter paint was like olive drab and there is faint remains of a number in the paint. Does not seem to match anything radar like I can find online, don’t think it is JOSTLE.

Some B-24’s had the SCR 717 ASV radar installed, the scanner being fitted in place of the ball turret. SCR 717 was a conversion of the SCR 720 air interception radar and the component units of that system were contained within several cylindrical canisters.

Well, play the odds.  What aircraft were most common there?

B-24s in the war, did any have unusual equipment?

Any postwar use?

Storage/scrapping site?

Not sure what would need that kind of control but certainly not a supercharger.#

Does look more radar/gun laying/fire control sort of stuff though.
