Mystery Wellington part

This device was found in the bombbay aerea of a crashed Wellington in the Netherlands. Is this a winch to hoist the bombs, or is it something else? BW Roger

Would appear to be bomb related as this picture of the bomb release mock up at Brooklands contains a similar looking device and there seems to be several of them attached to a piece of geodetic on the page on this link to a crash investigation web site.
