Mystery WW2 German aircraft window, UK loss

Hi everyone

I acquired this piece recently and was told it originated from a German aeroplane, shot down over the UK (South). I have no idea of type, but suspect it’s bomber related rather than fighter?
It’s anodised and is in very good condition, with lots of original paint, so I suspect it was souvenired at the time.

It measures approx 16 inches x 16 inches.

I would be very interested to hear any ideas or theories on a possible aircraft type ID.

many thanks

Hi Aerotony

thanks for your reply. Surprisingly, it doesn’t have any stamped numbers on it and I’ve looked very carefully.
Dornier 17 does look like a likely candidate, I agree.

cheers

Dornier Do17 looks like a good candidate. Cockpit side window. Does it have any numbers stamped on the frame?
