does anyone know if mytravel are ok or may go bankrupt or could have massive delays by the 17th july and know the current state of the company
also we are flying from gatwick at 6:50am does anyone know what aircraft we would be on concidering the cruise liner holds 1000+people and other people just going to hotels?

does anyone know the current state of gatwick airport if the viewing is available from the sports bar in the departure lounge and know good places to view a/c at palma or malta etc.

also has anyone been on the cruise ship or alcudia pins in the last 2 years?

LOL at stopthefighting ! You have been given more than one or two chances to prove you were telling the truth on this subject ? I for one from the start have said you were talking rubbish and many others did agree with me.You have been given at least three chances to prove us all wrong but every time we have a diffrent excuse. Before your post on this i liked you but over the weeks im sure you now know what i think of you and your lies ? Shame really you did seem to be a nice lad ? Again as LBARULES says email me the pics and they will go no further and if they are real i will clear your name. 😮

no i wanted to know what aircraft i was going to fly on and if mytravel had any chance of going into receivership which could mean we couldnt get home and also what palma is like.

You should be able to get some shots of the apron from the windows in the central area of LGW South departure lounge and on the piers leading to the gates. As for PMI (which is a massive airport), you should be able to get some apron shots from the piers leading to the gates – you may also be restricted as non-Schengen flights use particular piers. I was last at LGW South in 2003 and PMI in 2001 so I doubt too much has changed. However, the layout and size of both airports means viewing isn’t great at either (and PMI has tinted windows, I think 🙁 ). There are a few sites round PMI if you’ve got a car, there’s a good one close to 06L/24R.

MYT aren’t likely to go into administration and even if they did I guess you’d be ATOL protected. Anyway, have a great holiday.

Well a thread on an Aviation forum shouldnt be about a cruise, I think EAL just started this thread wanting to know about a cruise using the fact he is going on a flight as an excuse.

And of course, a chance to show off 😀

How would emailing them give them to the press?

And in case you haven’t noticed, SOFTLAD actually works for MyTravel, so why would he go giving them to the press? And would the press really care with stories like ‘the latest fight in Big Brother’?

Give me a break Richard.

Softlad,
Surely you would not like it if some person gave these to the Press! On the Other hand your usually quick to defend “My Travel” Maybe i will post them lets see you defend the company then! But i wont becuase you never know who is Surfing the Forum! 🙂

OH MY GOD if you don’t try the Sunbird then you’v never really experienced cruising!! Who needs the QE2 when the Sunbird is fun, relaxing & an absolute experience!!

Everywhere was well maintained & sitting areas were all very comfortable & pleesant! As I am not a gambler I did not use the Casino but those who enjoy a slot or two would not be disappointed. During my stay on the Sunbird I spent many nights walking around the ships decks where it was peacfull & calming again tidy & clean!

The food was of an excellent standard as I always looked forward to going to the Seven Seas restaurant for my dinner. The service was outstanding as the waiters & head waiters were more than welcoming & very helpful, always stopping for chats about your day on land & giving handy tips for the nest port of call! The food & service was huge highlight of my holiday!

Cabins are not huge but you do not feel crampt. Sharing with my friend we both had plenty wardrope space & found the beds to very very comfortable indeed! Our tv in our cabin was great as it had many channels to choose from & a good selection of movies to watch if relaxing in your cabin after a busy night on the ship. Yes you could hear the noise of the ship but there was no need for ear plugs & after all it is part of the cruising experience!

The entertainment was good quality, especially when we had a super comedian on for a few nights. The cruise staff were always helpful & there was always great shows on to go to after your eveing meal. Special shows were also held with crew members taking to the stage to show there talents which was a pleasure to watch.

There were always plenty of activities happening onboard the Sunbird from linedancing to games on the sports deck & many more. Plenty to do for the kids onboard & fun activities to watch such as ice-craving & towel folding (which sounds silly but actually really quite amazing the end results!) If you didnt want to stay onboard then the itineraries were all good value for money with a good selection of places to visit at each port of call! Also if the tours were not to yur taste then at many ports you have the freedom to do your own site-seeing!

Our fellow passenger were all in the holiday mood & everyone was very pleasamt creating a fabulous atmosphere onboard. We did meet many lovely couples but since we are both 18 we would have rather taken the waiters home for dinner!! I have been on the Sunbird twice & would go on many more times as its very special & just a great experience.

and the pic of the ship

What has all this got to do with ‘Commercial Aviation’??? Surely you are on the wrong website, let alone the wrong thread?

Just looked on Holidays Uncovered, indeed this was the hotel that had cryptosporidiosis, but that was last year so shouldn’t be a problem. It has got mixed reviews, but the recent reviews are all very good.

I went to a hotel in the Dominican Republic in 2001 that was featured on Holidays from Hell (ITV). The year before we went, the hotel was destroyed by a hurricane 🙁

I havent been to the Alcudia Pins, but I think I remember it been in the news last year regarding infections from the pool, or was that a different place?

Anyway when my mum and dad went to Alcudia a few years ago, they had a look around the Alucdia Pins and said it looked like a very nice place, but was a fair way out of Alcudia.

Have a great time.

thanks dc10 i hope your right and i hope it leaves on time or we could miss the cruise also is there anywhere to eat brekfast at gatwick at 5am and has anyone been on a cruise from palma?

I’ve not been on a cruise from Palma, but I’ve been on an Airtours/MyTravel cruise and it was terrible.

We went on the Sundream, which was not such a dream. Its interior was tatty, the rooms were falling apart, drinks were very overpriced and I was bored for a week. We left Montego Bay, went to Costa Rica, Panama, San Blas and Colombia. I couldn’t wait for the trip to come to an end.

I hope you enjoy it more than I did.
