Just got an e-mail from “Bob”.
He tells me MYT are ditching their A330s in preperation for re-shuffling their fleet and concentrating on short/medium haul european services.
No word about the 767s but the 757s look to be for the chop along with the A330s. But we knew that anyway.
No timeframe as yet.
If this turns into reality….you here is willing to bet that BMI will snap up one or two of those A330s?

I cant really see this happeneing, OMYT has just been resparyed, rumor has it MDBD is in for respray now or shortly, and also one of the danish arm is in for respraying. I contacted Air livery in December and they said that long haul fleet were due for respraying beginning in MArch so its right. Also the 767d are going on lease next month. I doubt they are going to pay out al that money to respray and then sell them.

Got to agree with waco. When i worked for MyTravel i got sick of constantly playing down rumors about the companys future and when they would go bust by. It’s a bad enough time as it is At MyTravel without hearing silly rumors. I know people are only passing on info and don’t mean any harm. As far as i can find out no A330’s will be leaving the fleet for at least this summer. In addition MyTravel will be operating an A330-300 from the scandanavian part of the company. Who knows what the future holds. In my experience in this industry it’s not true till it actually happens. And more important than anything do not listen to rumors on PPRUNE it has to be the worst site for bitching and silly rumor starting.

To be fair, I’m more interested in VZ. Living near BHX and having taken a few trips over to FAO with them, the rumour of them only being a booking agent for MYT charter flights is a little alarming.

Ever noticed that the airlines in the oil producing contries always do very well when prices go up?
Personaly I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole price rise thing was orchestrated to push their airlines into dominance. sure they blame it on war and “fears” but we all know thats just an excuse.
