MyTravel using Britannia 737-800 at LBA Next Year!

Seems very strange that they would use Britannia one of their biggest rivals, but according to the LBA group they are. Heres the flights they will be operating, A real reduction on previous years –

REUS MON 08:00 MON 13:55 BY B738

ALICANTE TUE 08:20 TUE 14:50 BY B738
PALMA TUE 17:30 TUE 16:00 MON A320
MALTA TUE 19:10 TUE 18:20 KMC A320

FUERTEVENTURA WED 07:35 WED 17:05 BY B738

FARO THU 14:20 THU 13:15 FCA B757
ARRECIFE THU 14:35 THU 13:35 IWD A320

IBIZA FRI 06:15 FRI 12:35 BY B738
DALAMAN FRI 10:55 FRI 09:55 PGT B738
TENERIFE FRI 13:00 FRI 12:00 AEA B738
MAHON FRI 13:40 FRI 19:40 BY B738

ALICANTE SAT 06:05 SAT 12:35 BY B738
PALMA SAT 15:35 SAT 14:20 MYT A320
LAS PALMAS SAT 20:50 SUN 06:20 BY B738

MALAGA SUN 08:00 SUN 14:45 BY B738

That 738 is definitly not Thomsons a/c because the timings for some of the flights are nearly identical to MYTs in previous years. Plus those timings mean that Britannia couldnt operate the Corfu,Zakynthos,Tenerife etc flights that they definitly are.

At least I know we will have 2 based charter a/c next year even though it seems that on Thursdays it wont be here, and on other days it just does one flight and then I imagine goes off to other airports.

Yep, they are swapping one Nordic 738 with a 752 to operate at Teeside, must be getting one from there for LBA.

Isn’t it just a case of MYT tour operators just using
allocations on Thomsons aircraft Tom.?

I dont think it is because we have one a/c based there operating Thomson flights and if you look on the Thomson website, the flight to FUE that they are using is operating using a W pattern, (Imagine IWD or someone like that) where as MyTravel are having their own a/c. (A bit strange Thomson are using a foreign carrier and MYT are using Thomsons airline!). Also on a Friday, while the 738 is flying to IBZ and MAH, Thomsons flight is to CFU and it out from 07:00 until 23:00.

DC10 – I imagine we will still have significantly more than HUY, just due to the fact we will have two based a/c next year where as HUY will have none.

Seems very strange that they would use Britannia one of their biggest rivals,
