Would anybody be able to give me clue as to the intended application of this little chappy please?

There is nothing in the way of stamps, numbers or marks of any kind on it other than the front and rear legends seen in the photo, so I am assuming it is missing a rear cover.
I acquired it purely because it looks interesting (I like buttons!) – it’ll be even more interesting when I know what it is!
many thanks,
Timbo

any takers?
Am beginning to wonder if it is even an aircraft component at all, seems too identification mark-less!

Don’t suppose its anything like a vintage bus door operating switch?
Where did it come from?

Does not look like aircraft to me. The bus door idea seems about right.

good lord, have I become a bus part collector? 😮
It came from a recently acquired consignment of 50/60s aircraft cockpit equipment acquired in a private deal so wrongly assumed it was of aircraft origin. The lack of stamps and numbers did ring bells, but it’s a nice lump of Bakelite so what they heck!
Thanks guys, think you might well be right!

Oooh that was a cheap shot Baz! It wasn’t the SWO I was worried about..it was WO Air Eng who had the bite to match the bark…”Rigglet – bl**dy haircut NOW!” 😮
My mystery button has turned out be far more fun than I could have imagined! So let me get this straight..we are currently thinking it’s a Transport Command personnel carrier flying boat trim button? Execllent!
