I found four of those wheels on a working trailer at Llandow last year…
Here they are, forth one out of shot.

WOW many thanks for the replies folks, I think they came from RAF Woodvale nr Southport which makes them possibly off a Barracuda as i know they where based for a short while whilst a RNAS.
Sadly the wheels are presently in the hands of a man who intends to put them on a trailer of some sort, but I’m sure he would consider passing them on for the price of some other replacement wheels.
If anyone would like to contact him regarding these then I’d be happy to pass on his phone number via a PM.
Neg G:)
P.s DC COLLINS, I tried mailing you but it bounced back:confused:

Could it not be that 8379 just superceded 8208, apart from the valve hole being relocted there dosen’t seem to be much difference.
I think they are interchangable.

Definitely in the Sea Fury parts list, I checked it this morning.

Sea Fury as well…….
Similar looking to the Sea Fury, but I believe these used the AH8379 in common with the Sea Hornet.
The main visual difference is the addition of the hole in one of the spokes.

Hiya Folks,
They look like DH Vampire main wheel tyres to me…maybe from a T.11!
Cheers
Tony
These are not Vampire wheels.

I found four of those wheels on a working trailer at Llandow last year, complete with backing plates and hubs etc. Apparently the trailer came from a farm near St Davids, so wondered if they were from a Sea Hornet, but err’d on the side of Firefly.

Not de Havilland Hornet by any chance, where’s DC when you need him!?
Hornet, Tempest, Barracuda, Firebrand, Meteor and Firefly…marks specific.

They bear a resemblance to 4-spoke Spitfire wheels, e.g. –
