The Institution of Mechanical Engineers web site has among alot of interesting aviation stuff an amazing picture archive of Napier’s history from the Lion in all its various marks, the Gloster racers with the Lion, the Rapier, the Sabre, Dagger, Nomad, Naiad right up to the later turbines and cars, trains and boats, fan blxxdy tastic.

Wow, what a resource, the picture of a Deltic’s engine timing gears being fitted is amazing.

They’re certainly not camshafts but I’m not convinced that there are any Sea Lion crankshafts in that shot either.
