NAS Pensacola whats next??????

Hi All,

As alot of you might now there is talk of another Base Closing here in the States. With the Last Hurricain that came thru basically destroy NAS Pensacola. Should we the US Tax Payers pay to have it rebuild.

The reason I ask is the last time a Hurricain came thru Florida and level an US Air Base it was Andrew and it flatten Homestead AFB, which the USAF said it would be rebuild but was the first to be on the Last Base Closer list.

Yes I know Pensacola is the oldest active base but lets really look what is Station there.

Training AiR Wing 6
VT-4
VT-10
VT-86
The Blue Angels

Thats it most Fix Wing Training is done at Whiting field which was also Destroyed.

The three VT Squadrons could easlie move to Corpus or Mirian. The Blues could and should be transferred out to the desert.

I realize that there will be alot of politics involved with this descion but both Pensacola and Whiting are going to cost close to 500 Million to rebuild. I think the money could be better used to upgrade exisiting base to take over the training of both base.

What do you think Guys

Cheers Crazymainer
