Because NASA actually made it to the Moon six times (unlike Russia’s mighty moon rocket) it merits a separate topic.
I did a bit of research about the Apollo programe. Anyone interested can do their own information gathering but the following site provides a good deal of information about the Saturn Ib and Saturn V.
http://www.nasm.edu/apollo/saturnV.htm
As one would expect there is a host of information on the moon race so there is no justification in guessing at events or making things up about either the NASA or Russian program unless you are one of those pathetic types who believe it was all a hoax.
A couple of quick points:
Apparently there was no Saturn II, III or IV.
It would appear that no Saturn rocket exploded by accident or
was lost during it’s development or use in the Apollo program.
Apollo 1 was the name given to the ground test accident which
resulted in the loss of three crew. The first manned Apollo was #7.
