National Air Force Museum Trenton Updates

Hi all,

I decided to drop by Trenton’s Air Force Museum today to see what has happened to the collection over the year…I was blessed with blue skies…

The restoration shop is still busy with their Anson, Harvard and Auster…all seem to be coming along quite nicely…and all will be moving into undercover in the new expansion once completed…

The Auster was on display in the airpark but being fabric covered started to show some wear and tear…so repairs are in process..

A Harvard engine is in the UK and pending transportation.

Anson restoration looks quite amazing.

Yes it would appear that lack of drainage seems to be an issue on those panels for sure….

Thanks Andrew. Interestingly I found out the reason why the Voodoos always have rust running from the side panels… It is because the Dzeus fasteners rust and the water which collects inside the panel runs out the bottem.

Sorry Peter I didn’t drop by the Cadet Voodoo for a close up inspection this time …..but I did note that she was still parked in the same place as before…

I was hoping to take a picture or two of the CC-177s that were parked on base but they were outa camera range…

Just thought I would share a few pictures taken last Friday of the Halifax now that the floor in the hangar has been completed and the area is open to visitors again…

Great indoor shots!

Yes always too bad to see stuff like that, but you know what, hey it is still a Voodoo piece, and be surprised what some time and money can do, would be a great cockpit display, also I was there a few years back with Vince and a group wanted to buy is almost complete airframe for an underwater dive wreck! Vince didn t think too much of that.

Thanks for posting the pictures of the two Voodoo’s at the O’Connor Farm….they do indeed seem pretty rough but perhaps they could be a source of hard to find parts still…

Lindsey VooDoo long gone, used to see it up hwy 35 on way to cottage, Vince Oconnor has a hulk at his place, needs some TLC for sure.

If it was only a bit smaller and easier to manage I would tackle that as it is a place to put my instrument panel and parts!
