I flew with Air France last week and I think they were excellent. There was no great problem with language, the only thing was that they served exactly the same type of sandwich (cheese or ham) going and coming back. The crew were better mannered than some (notably Air New Zealand) and the legroom provided was ample. I flew out on an older A320 and back on a newer A320.
My other favourites are SABENA – simply incomparable in the entertainment stakes with the pilot’s weirdly translated English and the stewards making jokes during the safety routine.
I also love Finnair and have flown with Iberia and Cyprus Airways – both of whom were acceptable.
Ones to avoid are Icelandair and Air New Zealand.

Hi everyone. I’m new to this site, although I have been a airline enthusiast for about ten years.
Air Malta are very good; nice legroom and free drinks. British European are my favourite airline though. Very attentive and courteous, VERY punctual flights and good service overall. I’m not just saying that because I interviewed the Chief Executive and Director of Strategy at JY last month.

My local airline aurigny, could be described as the national airline of the channel islands. They fly to amsterdam, standsted, manchester, east midlands using saab 340’s.There are inter island services using bn trislanders, between Jersey,Guernsey and Alderney. There are also trislander services to southampton and Dinard. There are charter flights on a saturday from jersey to manston, camebridge and glouster. They bring the mail in from gatwick to jersey every morning.
Great service, nice cabin crew and never really delayed.
At the moment there is talk of them purchasing atr 42’s which would be used to operate a guernsey-paris cdg flight.

RE: National Airlines…….BA,AF etc…. What do u think
Fortunately, national airlines are not “national” any more due that most of them are becoming private and that means, no more
nationalism, monopoly, high prices and so on. So I´ll speak about my favority being or not national ones.
Lufthansa; dull but terribly effective and good.
Air France; French glamour all over.
Iberia; You could get a nice flight and a terrible one depending the crew.
Alitalia; Stylish.
Austrian; As a symphony.
SAS; A breath of Scandinavian fresh air.
Royal Jordanian; Lavish
BA; Friendly crews but terrible uniforms and naff colours.
Sabena; Sweet as a belgian Godiva.
…and many more.

RE: National Airlines…….BA,AF etc…. What do u think
Well it all depends on the country’s economy and situation. For me, SIA, SAS, Emirates, BA, KLM and Lufthansa. All countries are not capable of producing quality airlines, but countries as India, China etc are very much capable of producing good airlines, only if they take the civil aviation more seriously. After all an airline reflects the countries image.

My favouite national airlines are: aer lingus, nice crew and a good service.
Air France,Comfortable, although there was a language barrier but it is not that hard to ask for a drink in french.
Alitalia-Food is all right, comfortable although check in staff were ignorent.travelled on an md 82 gatwick-venice
British airways-Not as bad as people say, crew can be friendly and food has got better. It is not that comfortable in economy.
Swissair-good service and polite and professional staff.Food very nice.Travelled on a a321 to zurich from heathrow
Air Malta-travelling them this year, from what i have heard alright.
