National Archives (former PRO question)

Hi all,

Perhaps not very fitting for this forum, but I am in need of some information such as copies of form 78 and Operational Record Book extracts as well as raid information (bomb load, fuel etc.). I cannot go to London at short notice unfortunately to get the copies myself.

Anyone on this forum living close to Kew who can help me getting this information,
As it is rather important, please pm me
Thanks in advance, all will be revealed in due time.
Cheers

Cees

If that fails I will (probably) be at Kew for a couple of days next week. Happy to help.

Meanwhile….be careful what you hit those spades with whilst you are digging! 😉

Yes, I’ve used Digital Express many times and it’s a good service provided you know precisely what you want scanned

The Form 78s are kept on microfilm by the RAF Museum, you could contact them via their website, under Research (Department of Research and Information Services).

…thanks for the pointer OneEighthBit, has anybody here used it yet? I was planning a trip to view some AIR40 documents but may use this instead…

Cees, you know about their Digital Express service? You can request a number of documents which they will scan and email to you within ~24 hrs.
