Visited the National Memorial Arboretum on a bitterly cold day yesterday. Went to visit a particular tree with a friend but have to say I was totally awestruck by the place. Still in its early stages of development it is a truly inspiring place. Quiet, and in some parts almost barren, Memorials are placed there in many forms and to all services, military and civilian, as well as to individuals. Here’s a few photo’s to give you a general idea.

The photograph above shows the main entrance which is the arched roofed building which contains a well stocked shop. Behind that is a coffee shop. The glass doors to the left as you look are an exhibition room. The Sculpture with the RAF Eagle perched on top is the Berlin Airlift Memorial.
