NCL – STN Flight report

Some people may prefer to use the word file attached in the 2nd post (much easier)
Thursday 15th April 2004: Report written by Concordesst and Speedbird 12T

EZY282 NCL – STN (Scheduled departure 6.40am – actual departure 7.50am)

When we arrived at NCL we checked-in immediately, because nothing can be seen before security, we went straight through and we just noticed a window where we caught the below picture.

After a brief look around duty free we went straight to the gate (6). Along the way we got another good photo:

At the gate we looked around and figured out which aircraft was our operator. We finally found which aircraft it was: Boeing 737-73V G-EZJY Pictured below:

We sat down and got comfortable at the gate, when the very lovely easyJet boarding woman spoke over the tanoy:
“Ladies and Gentlemen, easyJet would like to apologise for the short delay of this flight, your aircraft shall board in about 5-10 minutes.”
15 minutes later the women came back and announced once again:
“Ladies and Gentlemen, easyJet would like to apologise for the short delay of this flight, this is due to an operational issue, and your aircraft shall board in the next 5 minutes.” This time she was indeed telling the truth we boarded and then were told the details of the delay by Captain Neil Formley, he told us that easyJet’s network for aircraft routes was down and nothing was loaded into the navigational computer, an hour later this problem was dealt with and our very fast moving hero (sarcastic) came with our flight plan:

When the dispatcher left the aircraft we were all ready, the doors were armed for departure and we began pushback, as we taxied to Runway 25 the crew showed us the safety procedure, and then the lights went out for T/O. We entered R25 and went for a rolling start; the acceleration was incredible; it only took us about 15 seconds to rotate speed. After T/O we turned right and climbed to FL290 and at about FL60 we spotted the pride of the Tyne in the distance:

At FL290 we were traveling at 500MPH above the clouds which looked amazing.

The flight started to get a bit bumpy as we approached Stansted, we descended to an altitude which sat in the clouds so we were stuck there for about 5 minutes. On our final approach to R23 we came across many fields and a few ponds with speed brakes at about 20%, flaps 30. On short final I spotted a Ryanair 737-800 (I think) holding short of R23, and then we touched down, the landing was fairly smooth and the reverse really kicked in, we stopped in about 15 seconds and left the runway.

Return flight (EZY281) to come soon!!
