The Brazilian Navy training ship NE Brasil/U-27 is back in the UK as part of its Midshipmen Training Cruise and has been tied up on the Thames next to HMS Belfast near Tower Bridge and is due to leave Sunday 04Oct15. The ship is a modified version of the Niteroi-class of frigates, minus the armaments and sensors, which were originally built in the UK by Vosper Thornycroft but U-27 was built by Arsenal de Marinha, Rio de Janeiro and launched in 1983. It was open for tours during the afternoon by the Midshipmen (Officers in Training) although it was limited to a turn around the upper deck.

While I was on Belfast, I spied the paddle steamer PS Waverley (Launched 1946) under tow and waiting for Tower Bridge to open.
