Near miss over Spain

Something taken from the press.
“soon after the take off of another Iberia A320 shuttle flight to Madrid, passengers though they were going to die when the plane sharply descended and turned in a very brusque way. Although these were seconds, these were endless. After controling the plane, an annoyed pilot told the scared passengers that they had been about to colide another jet. It seems that TCAS went on, when it realized that another AF jet from Paris, which was in a wrong place, was in course of colision with less than 166 meters of vertical separation. Oppps….scarry.

ACE sounds gr8!

The near miss—-where was ATC!!? Its a good job we have TCAS, so many collisions have been avoided because of it.

a tristar would have been amusing as the tail engine would have been higher than that little blast fence!!

Know what you mean about the spot at Lanzarote. I stood behind a Tristar during take-off and force was amazing, nearly pushed us into the sea..

Bad news about the incident over Spain, TCAS did its job again though by the sounds of it.

Hi all – the vortex wake must have been amazing – i was at the end of Arrecife on Mon eve when a B738 came over on finals and the wake nearly knocked me off – and imagine the speed those 2 must have been flying at
