Need more info about Walney Airshow 2005

Hi!

We are a group of aviation minded friends from Norway planning this years vacation. Most of us have visited Duxford and other major events in the UK once or more before, and we are on the lookout for something different.

We have stumbled upon the website of Walney Airshow and found the list of expected participants impressive.
However, we are a bit sceptical since a lot of the participants are still to be confimed (still early..) and they have never organized such an event up there before. So, what can we expect? Is the site big enough to let most of the participating aircraft to land and display static.

We will probably stay in Manchester for a few days after the airshow.
Is there any museums, collections, or other interesting things to recommend in that area? (We will have a rental car)

Thanks!
E

Also RAF Millom Museum, a small but interesting museum, and i believe there is going to be a small museum at Walnet Airfield in the not to distant future. The first exhibit is a Tornado which should arrive in March.

There is an aviation museum at Carlisle Airport – also Hadrian’s Wall (historic but not aviation!)

Manchester Museum of Science and Industry is worth a visit.
They have an aircraft hall ,which includes the u.k.’s only Shackleton under cover.
