Well chaps, I was planning the trip for Legends with my friend here and we were thinking “ok, we can attend the first day of Legends, but the second day could well be used for a visit to Hendon!”.
So here’s the idea:
9th of july:
Ryanair flight from Rome to Stansted+train to Cambridge. We arrive there at 9.00am, drop the luggage at the B&B and go to the airshow.
End of the airshow, we get back, have a shower and then buzz around Cambridge.
10th of july:
We wave goodbye the B&B and move towards Hendon. And here’s the weakest point of the plan. I have no clue about how to reach Hendon and if there are any B&B around there.
We drop the luggage at the B&B, visit the museum, get back to the B&B.
11th of july:
Back to Stansted, we fly our way back home to rome, our rucksacks full with souvenirs and aviation memorabilia 😀
Now if someone could help us with the B&B in the Hendon area and on how to reach it this would be really appreciated, a couple of good pints is the least I can offer for your kind help 🙂
Cheers
Alex

Red Lion is 30 metres from Whittlesford Station with a direct rail link to Cambridge Centre

In Cambridge do not neglect to visit the Eagle, an acceptable pub, with well kept Greene King IPA and a ceiling dating back to WW2 that is inscribed with aircrew signatures in candle and lighter smoke.
A ‘Do not miss’ if you have the time.
A good also time to take out your Flypast subscription if you want use of the flightline enclosure for ‘free’. Recommended.

Not sure about a B&B in Hendon but the museum is quite easy to get to via the tube:

Alex, don’t forget that after the airshow a few of us forumites meet at the famous Red Lion pub, you are welcome to join us.
