Nesscliffe raid

Ok, heres a wild one, was told this by a good friend tonight, personally didn’t believe him but here goes. He reckons that during WWII, the Germains raided Nesscliffe (now a training area, near RAF Shawbury) which at the time was an RAF ammo area. During the raid, four RAF men were killed in a room, and this is haunted. He told me something that happened to him at the old base when he was on exercise with the Army, but what i’m interested in, was their really a German raid on Nesscliffe?

He was told about the raid by an officer in the Army, and during the night weird stuff happened, including violent knocking at a door when they would be able to see anything approaching through two glass windows on either side, which they were looking out of.

I reckon it was a prank by some other lads in his platoon or something, but could be interesting.
