Interesting stuff. But what the pictures really emphasise, is you can plan when satellites are coming overhead and put all the toys away!

It is a little known fact that the Atomic energy commision (or whatever they now are) run a guided tour of the Nevada Test Facility about 10 times a year. You are picked up from their office in Las Vegas and taken for a full day trip at no cost visiting all of the main sites such as the apple houses, sedan crater, valley of the gods, place where they fired the nuclear artillery shell from etc… Overall a very good day although it takes a fair bit of effort for non US citizens to get on it – my friend and I had to wear special red passes denoting us as foreigners! I have to admit it was quite an experience to actually stand in the crater of a nuclear bomb.

If you use GE & look to the west of Groom Lake you can see all the nuke craters.
