Never park your car behind a Virgin !

A funny thing happened today at Prestwick Airport. First of all a Virgin 744 approached just as a USAF KC-135 (Super 707 Deluxe) was departing…

you forgot to blur out the titles and tail logo, though (albeit only on half the images of the aircraft…)

BBC guidelines on product placement. They didn’t blur me out however, you can just see me snapping over the fence as the Mondeo comes to rest.

Just a reminder that the Top Gear report should be on tonight’s programme on BBC-2 at 8pm (BST).

I’ll have to take a day and take a trip over to PIK and GLA to meet Fred and the rest, been in touch a few times and nearly twisted his leg into coming here once but he’d only find it too boring 🙂

Thanks for sharing the photos, saw some on Fred’s SAAP sit but none of the action 🙂

I was with Fred and Steven Williamson all day around PIK taking photos. We each spread out along the fence to try and get a decent shot. Fred was after one with the plane and the car rolling in the one shot. I decided to get seperate shots of of the plane before the action and the cars during the action.

Steven unfortunately lost all his shots as his micro drive crashed !!! 😮

If you look at my shot of the Atlas Air 747 approaching and landing, then compare it to Fred’s from along the lane. You can just see me crouching beneath taking my picture as my buttocks clenched somewhat involuntarily ! Don’t think I’ve ever been that physically close to an aircraft in the air without being on board ? 😀

Fred Seggie’s excellent site is as follows for those who don’t know www.saap.co.uk

How far did the car “fly”?
And why has this movie been made?

Hi all (Newbie alert)

Originally this was planned to be carried out on an A340-600 as I seem to remember it was meant to be something to do with the Rolls Royce anniversary but all that was available on the day of filming was a 747-400. As for what Virgin got out of it, there should be a nice little featurette with the presenter in the new Upper Class Suite fitted to this aircraft.

Yes, I did.

I just wondered how this would relate to the programme. “We discover the best car to drive through a hurricane”, do you think?

I guess you don’t watch Top Gear much? Start watching it and you’ll soon see how relevant it is! 😉 😀 That show is just a big muck about now! 🙂
