Late in the 80s? or early 90s i was at Farnborough International and recall the commentator saying that Neville Duke was flying the Optica which went on to do a display.
Can anyone confirm what year and registration of the craft?
Thanks

It had a system called (I think!) Skyshout – a loud PA that bellowed instructions as the aircraft got airborne. I couldn’t actually understand what was being said though!
Brilliant! Skyshout seems to be a Home Office “must-have” Modification installed on so many police heli’s – and removed to save weight cos no-one used it.
Good sales ploy though.

I was there – 88 sounds about right. I think it was white, perhaps a Police scheme. It had a system called (I think!) Skyshout – a loud PA that bellowed instructions as the aircraft got airborne. I couldn’t actually understand what was being said though!
I was much more impressed with the fact that the Neville Duke, hero of Farnboroughs more than 30 years before, was displaying in front of me!

Yep, Neville was test pilot when Opitica were based at Old Sarum. He flew it for Farnborough and I have seen an article, possibly in Pilot, when they did a flight test with him.
