Spot the 262 difference
It may be difficult to spot any difference by viewing the pictures that have been posted with this thread, having been to the Everett production plant several times over the past few years and, having seen one original 262 I can tell you that the big difference is the quality of the the build. The new Everett 262’s are exceptional, fantastic workmanship and the hospitality of the tour guides is second to none. To see these incredible aircraft is a pleasure. I for one, wish only the best of luck to the lucky owners of these fine historic aircraft. I hope to see one in the air soon and look forward to seeing the 109’s that are being considered for rebuilds. The warbird community is fortunate to have people like the Everett based builders to contribute so much to our hobby. Im very fortunate that living just a short drive away in Canada that I have had the opportunity to witness the progress that has been made with these Stormbirds.

She was a “Pulk-Zerstรถrer”, fly to the Allies-Bomber-Formation an hold in.
(Sorry for my bad english)
Thats the ME-262A1/U4. A bomber busting plane with a big cannon . A better name for it would be “Herget’s Telephone Pole” after Wilhelm Herget the pilot of a U4 who “borrowed” one to go join Galland’s JV-44

No problem Two six two mate!.
Great Link, thank’s.
I already had that one, BUT had forgotten about it, and did not check for 262 stuff!.
So Paul Allen’s(Micro man) got Howie’s old racing 262, and they are talking an Original rebuild, with Jumo’s and all, heard it before,
BUT I think it’s going to be a good one to watch,….if they can do it!

Dunno about the canopies, the biggest give away for me is the PC induced lack of swazis! ๐

I find that the canopy is higher than on the original.
Me too.
Plus the nose wheel plumbing and doors.

The Tango-Tango cockpit has a straight line down the back from the top-center, while the original has a slight outward curve down the back!
My first impression, even before I saw the mention of it was that they had used a modified canopy from a P-63 King Cobra, or similar.
By: STORMBIRD262 - 29th August 2005 at 14:43
more
I wonder what the BUGGGER with the BIG gun flew like! ๐ฎ
By: STORMBIRD262 - 29th August 2005 at 14:26
H’mmm
Well, I have been looking at 262’s ๐ฎ , for a few day’s now  .
Yes,
It may look a bit more blown, but even some war shot’s of 262’s look different sometime’s at another angle, I think, some were a little different among them.
Avia’s yes they are lower.
Hughe’s 262 was lower too I think.
Stub’s and Cone’s, well it doe’s look like she has them too  .
Been looking at White 35 Original next to White One ๐ .
They are very good copy’s I think, not very much between them and the original’s.
Except, These are like the next, new and improved model’s, just off the line! ๐
By: DazDaMan - 29th August 2005 at 10:29
Personally i reckon the replicas look better than the old ones with the canopy, and they still look close enough to the real thing for me to spend my few million on (if i had it!)
Let’s go halfers on one, old boy!! ๐
