Question,
First Choice have just taken delivery of G-OOBF which was a new unit from Boeing, also G-OOBG and OOBH have been recenlty delivered the latter arrived in Manchester from Abu Dhabi yesterday. Which operater have these come from as OOBH shows it as a 236 model which is ex BA. And also why have they come from Abu Dhabi.
Also how come they need all thes extra aircraft I know they are doing quite well but getting all these 757’s seems strange as they will only be flying the european secters not long hall with them no other charter company is expanding this quick?.
Many thanks
Andy

G-OOBH operated its first revenue flight this morning after ferrying in from AUH on Wednesday night.
Including the 2 Canadian reg a/c, this gives a total of 21 B757s on the books – but not for long, some of the older birds are slated for one-way flights from these shores. It’ll be a sad day when G-OOOB goes, last of the original pair…
A321s G-OOAI/AJ being prepared for return to leasing co and will have dep UK by end of next week.

GOOBF was dlvd new from Boeing
GOOBG is ex N544NA of National
GOOBH is ex N545NA of National and was in Abu Dhabi for pre delivery preparation checks
GOOBI is ex N615AU of US Airways (Not yet delivered)
GOOBJ is ex N616AU of US Airways (Parked Manchester. Not yet handed over to First Choice by the lessor, but it is on a care and maintenance agreement)
The ex US Airways Boeing B757’s are to replace GOOOB and GOOOG, when their lease expires at the end of the summer 04 season. There is no requirement for the use of these a/c during the summer season. The entry into service date is flexible, and they may be used towards the end of the summer for any ad-hoc work.

BA did sell off their ealry 757’s first, but AFAIK these are already plying the skies hauling cargo.
BA then sold off some of their more recent 757’s to DHL. Many with the RB-511 E4 engine type.

Good point, but surley these will have loads of hours on them as they were early units that BA sold of first for conversion. Also did’nt thes have the old style RB211 engines on them, as the one delivered yesterday had the more common RB211 unit. So I dont think they are ex BA.

BA sold off a large chunk of their 757 fleet to DHL. Who have been getting them retrofitted to Freighters out in the east.
Perhaps these 2 757s have been bought of DHL and saved from convertion??
