New AFDU book

Just in case anyone is interested, my grandfather’s log book and diary has just been published by the History Press. Its called A Very Unusual Air War and gives insights into his time as a Spitfire pilot and test pilot in the AFDU

Congratulations, it looks like a cracker. Love the title and the subject matter and it’s an attractive looking book. You must be very proud of his achievements.

I shall buy a copy for sure. I have an interest in their work testing enemy aircraft so this should be a good read.

Welcome to the Forum!

I know a bit about the Air Fighting Development Unit at Duxford in 1942 – was your grandfather there at that time?
