'New' Australian Spits

Couldn’ help noticing that 2 Spitfires and a Seafire XV went on their register in May-any other details out there?

Mark, the proper term is “Outback”.Or “Back of the Black Stump”.
I really think you need some proper English lessons from Stormbird.:D

…or maybe “out in the wops…”, or is that a Kiwi expression?

so the same old chestnut, how much of a Spitfire exists in order to rebuild it….

Enough.

Both these Spitfires were surface wrecks, and substantial at point of recovery from the ‘boonies’ in September 1969 and early 1970’s respectively

Registration after such a long period suggest some movement is imminent.

i too inquired about these Spits & found Info from another source, both Mk.V’s, VH-CIP is BS164 & VH-CIQ is MA353.
Now digging further BS164 seemed to be parts & MA353 was engine / wing / parts, both of these are linked in the rebuild of VH-FVB / BL628, so the same old chestnut, how much of a Spitfire exists in order to rebuild it….
VH-CIH Seafire Mk.XV is SW800 which has been in Oz since 1991
hopefully this helps
