1. Will the service be popular since it is being operated in an all-economy configuration? Not everyone can make do with the leg room on what will a flight lasting in excess of 6 hours.

Definitely. It’s a well known fact that regional airports such as MAN and BHX have trouble getting the mainstream international carriers to fly there because they can’t attract a sufficient amount of business class traffic. Emirates do so well because they have a good economy class product.

Hi

Im new here, and I would just like to say Hey

Okay, let me continue.

I just don’t understand. How are Emirates, Qatar Airways, Gulf Air and now Gulf air Traveller filling those horrible A330s from the likes of BHX and MAN and GLA.

Okay, let me try and explain this to you.

1. There are about 100 000 British people living in Dubai, and most are not from London, so they use these flights to travel back home, most more than once a year.
2. Dubai is a major transit hub, and around 70% of passengers on these flights connect to onward destinations.
3. Dubai is also a major Tourist destination, and last year around 700 000 British people came to Dubai on holiday.

Don’t like Emirates. They have got too cocky by far since their humble beginnings and meteoric rise. They have got way too big for their boots with all the A330s and 777s. Preferred them when they operated to UK with the A310s!

Just because the airline is not on the brink of going bankrupt, and is proving very popular dose not make it cocky.

The only reason it is growing at an amazing rate is because it is popular, it is not flying half empty planes around after all.

Emirates is a very mediocre airline. There A330s are highly configured by other scheduled airlines standards.

Im sorry that you think that way, but Emirates is hardly a mediocre airline.
Also, I would be grateful if you could explain to me why you think Emirates is a mediocre airline.

And please explain to me how there A330s are highly configured compared to other airlines.

Well, pardon me for having exacting standards! Emirates carries on although it were one of the true service airlines like Singapore Airlines or Cathay Pacific who look after economy passengers as well.

Out off all 3 of the above airlines, all of which I have travelled more than once, I can definitely say that Cathay Pacific was the worst.
I have just returned from Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific, in business class, and I can honestly say that the level o service I received was absolutely disgusting!

However, the service I have received on Emirates and SIA, in ALL classes has always been excellent.

And it is a well known fact that Emirates economy is the airlines best factor.

Gulf Air is , however, a quality carrier with very good service. Hope GulfAirTraveller will carry through the service but offer fares at cheaper prices!

AHA, and when was the last time you travelled GF, 1970?
It is hardly a quality carrier!

Also, when have you travelled Emirates, and were to, and were from?

Maybe there was no grand piano in the in-flight cocktail lounge, eh?

Or, as it may be, the Purser’s gloves weren’t sufficiently gleamingly white?

Maybe they only serve two meals on the flight and DanAir expects a snack in between.

Or every member of the cabin crew wasnt from Dubai.

Or maybe no bolied sweets on take off?

Emirates is a very mediocre airline

You don’t seem to know very much about the airline industry if you can make statements like that.

Where’s your evidence for that assertion?

I didnt say they were! As I said above I was quoting what Dan Air had said, and it was followed by :D. I love A330s even though I have never flown on one.

So I take it these flights will be operated by 767s? (Not ‘horrible A330s’ Quote – Dan Air πŸ˜€ )
