At least they were actual aeroplanes, the new film will be CGI 🙁

Well that is quite a dilemma isn´t it. The wrong real aeroplanes, or CGIed accurate ones?

Could they also do something about the German Armour seeing Allied materiel dressed up with swastikas really gets my goat. The scene with the priest dressed up always annoys.

I still think they should do a George Lucas and revisit both films and redo the effects.

That would really be worth watching. They could finally get the Stukas that they wanted into BoB and some Emil 109s and halfway convincing effects and… everything else that was missing too. Digitally correcting Susannah Yorks hairstyle might be a plan too.:diablo:

Personally I do not like CGI – I can never see it as anything other than a hi-tech cartoon.

There are two types of cgi. One good, one bad.
Two examples of cgi I bet you never knew were cgi.
Shaun of the Dead, the scene where they throw records at the zombies. Those records are cgi.
Gladiator. The tops of the buildings and gladiator arena are cgi. The bottoms are real set.
In other words if cgi is done correctly you won’t notice it.
On the other hand real world effects done badly look like cgi or models. The scene where the Duxford hanger blows up in BoB. I always thought that was a model. The way the tree sways and the hanger panels blow out. Always looked odd to me. As for the rest of the effects. Sorry but the original film is great `except` for those horrid flame and explosion effects. Dambusters and the water spout effects. Both are horrid, horrid, horrid!
I think a new BoB film with cgi is exciting, but only if done correctly.
I still think they should do a George Lucas and revisit both films and redo the effects. Think of the Dambusters with cgi. Mouthwatering!

There are plenty of hangars at Duxford, – I’m sure no one would mind a bit.:)

Whenever I see that act of wanton vandalism during the BoB film…is it just me who can visualise Michael Caine saying…

”You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off ” 🙂

Oh yes, I can see it now. Wingco Buzz Lightyear sets off in his Spitcane from Big in Hill and as he approaches the English Ocean he’s joined by Pilot Officer Woody in his Hurrifire, who just managed to take off from Hawk Hinge before it got bombed by the Monster Inc. Heinkers 18s. Together they fly direct to Berlin Hasselhof, capture Hitler, trick Her Man Go Ring into signing a surrender document thinking it’s his bar bill and fly straight back to New York to tell everyone that the war is over. Now to whom at Pixar do I send my script?

Where pray is the confirmation that 8-9 figure dollar sum of STUDIO MONEY will be spent for this production? Looks just like a script commission to me? This is as it were still to be placed the design boards at Supermarine, let alone at Castle Brom or Duxford.

All the above surmising seems a bit pre-emptive to me

I had it in my head that the BBMF don’t do filming assignments due to their display obligations and/or engine/airframe hours allowed to be flown per annum. I could be wrong, of course.

I’m sure that large sums of money could persuade them to help.

Also, I wonder who has a spare hangar they could blow up ?
