My apologies firstly if this type of thread is not allowed with it being self promotional in one sense.
I have been working on a documentary looking at the experiences of Bomber Command aircrew veterans during the Second World War and it will be completed this autumn.
Into the Wind is my first feature length documentary, capturing the life and wartime experiences of over 50 former Bomber Command veterans from the Second World War. As well as a document of unique historical value and significance, Into the Wind is a record of deeply personal stories, tales of friendships gained and lost, the perpetual possibility and proximity of death, the importance of love and family, the shared passion for flying and the moral implications of warfare.
The documentary features interviews with former aircrew originating from Poland, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and the United Kingdom, all of whom nevertheless share the weight and responsibility of having helped change the course of history.
A new trailer is online here and there are details for a mailing list should anyone wish to be kept informed of release dates etc and screening dates.

I don’t know how many people on here have used this site but I found it pretty useful for making presentations and have had a go at putting a very small selection of material from the film into an online booklet.
A very useful way for small groups to publish newsletters etc at no cost.
Here is my effort,

I’ve uploaded a new gallery of Black and White portraits taken during the production period including the last surviving Dam Buster pilot, Les Munro. I will add more as time goes on,

Thank you Andrew, I think you appear briefly in the background during the sequence where an ex Lanc mid upper gunner goes for a taxi in Just Jane.
Thanks again to your team for your help,

Curiosity really; I know that they’ve been preparing for an Oral History project and I’ve been in discussion with them over availability of some of NAM’s contacts.
This also partly linked through to the new Notts Airfield Education DVD that NAM has just completed!
They should be in attendance at the V-Force event the week after next to gather some contacts for the Cold War era. 🙂

Looks interesting Steven, have the guys at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Partnership been involved?
NAM has just sent off a new education DVD for pressing, which includes some aircrew stories from Nottinghamshire Airfields.
No, although some of the members of the partnership have kindly allowed me access to sites etc and we are in contact occasionally. The film however is very much a separate concern. Why do you ask? 🙂
Very best wishes
Steve

Looks as though it will be a good documentary to watch! You will have to post again when it’s about to hit our screens!
