Just wanted to give you a link to a new work that has come out by USAF historian Alan Duffin. Allan has written for television and film and I have read his Masters thesis on the movie & 1960’s ABC television series ” 12 O’Clock High” ! One of the truly classic films about the pressures faced by Eighth AF crews during the Second World War as they flew daylight raids from England over the Third Reich ! I have been following this project for sometime and have spoken to him as he gathered information to write this book. Just wanted to pass this along for you to look at. After all it was from your great nation that our young men along with those from the RAF and Commonwealth Nations joined in this fight from field all across the UK ! No film that I know of to this day , depicts the pressure of command in the Eighth Air Force as does this film . My all time favorite movie !!!! Just the experience of walking on those runways and feeling like all those men who have passed on were right with you ! This movie is a real tribute to the men of The Mighty Eighth & our British friends !
Thanks !

I am wondering since it was about the Eighth Air Force in theUK during the war, did the 1960’s ABC television series play in the UK on television? Anybody…..?????
Intersting book. Weirdly enough I just got a 1949 copy of the paperback on Alibris.
I’m pretty sure the TV series did not get aired in the UK I was an air-minded kid at the time, but having said that I was also the kid who missed every single show of “The Pathfinders” – which I expect never made it to the USA either.
