New Dad's Army movie. What do we think?

No ,i fear it will be another remake that falls at the hurdle.It won’t get the support from the older ones who enjoyed the series and the youngsters i doubt will be interested.
I doubt you can improve on the original,those characters were perfect for the job.

Nope sorry not for me. Why? We can and still do watch and hear the classic originals so I cannot see any point at all in a new film.
The original actors embedded those characters in our psyches and the writers gradually write for the actors so much a part of the characters had they become.
Toby Jones is a good enough actor to be a Mainwaring but Bill Nighy lacks Le Mesurier’s natural laconic patrician air.
No doubt Ian Lavender will play Jones!!

I can see him in the role, I can’t see Russel Brand as Pike…;o)
