new Dam Busters documentary

There’s a new documentary coming on the Dambusters to be shown in the autumn.

Just been a taster on BBC Look North – appears to concentrate on the technical aspects of the raid – such as the navigation task and the accuracy of the bombsight etc

Martin Shaw appears in the documentary.

It’s no big deal – I think there may be a number of us on this board who talk planes but also have practical involvement with green machines.

Mine is presented as a vehicle of HQ Squadron, 2nd Derbyshire Yeomanry, 51st (Highland) Infantry Division, in North West Europe, c.July 1944.

42 Ford…outstanding Jeepman !

Jeepman:

Its remarkable how many WW II jeeps survived the war and are still in use all over the world in one form or another. No one piece of WW II equipment has lived longer than the jeep. In Normandy next week I bet one will see many running around. A remarkable device developed for war & now used in many peaceful ways ! I am sure many were left by the USAAF in the UK after the war!
Is your jeep painted up or kitted out to represent any WW II theme.. US Army, Airborne…etc ?

Slightly off-topic,but I just found this on the BBC news website.

A contemporary re-creation of the Dambusters raid.
