Does anyone know anything about C-47A N5831B (cn19345), which flew into Liverpool from the States last week on delivery to a new owner? Has anyone seen or photographed it or know the reason for its purchase?

There was a C-47 staging through Reykjavik on the 31st of may on it’s way to a new owner in the UK. Aircraft in all metal finish, didn’t catch the reg though, as that is not my thing. The owner was on board, and talked to some of the airports rats, and said it would be based in Northern UK
Yes, that was the one!

If you read all the links,it does say it will be based at Liverpool, and re-registered N747PG(reserved). For the show circuit.
Also there’s some wonderful extra reading if you go to the home page of Richb’s first link, and choose some of those displayed links!

If you go to the car park at the end of the runway at Baileys Lane you will see the A/C in the small/light aircraft park by the Keenair Hangar. It is owned by somebody in the u/k but all the maintainance and storage is to be done by Keenair.

From another group:
>Arriving at Liverpool during the past few days has been Dc3 (C-47)
>N5831B. This has come from across the pond & is reported to be now
>based at Liverpool.
>
>Having found a picture online, it looks quite a nice aircraft, I wonder
>if it’ll visit Coventry (Atlantique) at some point soon?

It was one of the several based at Avra Valley and has , reportedly, been
sold to a new owner and will be based at North Weald.

These were posted on the Propliners forum. There are plans to fit it out with a split cabin – half airline seats half paratroopers

I saw the same Dak as Will over Nuneaton at about 1600 on Saturday. I’m sure it was FiFi Kate.

No, think the one in question is stripped to bare metal. The one you probably saw was N1944A in USAAF mks based at Kemble.

I saw a non ‘local’ Dak over Coventry last week, quite low, dark green with roundels, but not the BBMF one. I havent got around to asking about it at work yet. Does this fit the description?
