Hi all,
I’ve just bought a new PC and would like to know from you lot in the know how ‘fast’ you think it will be for flight sims in the shops at the moment. My first objective is just to get IL2, FB, & PF (& Lego Star Wars for my boy :)) running smoothly! My old PC (1.4 Athlon, 768 slow RAM, 64mb graphics) was really struggling, and anyway all 30gb were used up. Specifics are:
Athlon 64 AM2 processor, 300GB hard drive, & 256mb GeForce 7600GT graphics card.
Any opinions welcome.

very good pc…. but GOD PLS U CUD HAVE POSTED THIS BEFORE..
am2 and core2duo from intel costs almost the same with core2duo having performance 20% better …….amd lost out this time with intel.
7600gt is a VERY GOOD CHOICE u can upgrade to a dx10 card next year it’ll run stuffs just fine…as i’m myself on a 6800u almost same as 7600gt runs stuffs fine.. 🙂
but what display u have? hope its not a mamoth 20.1 inch dell … 7600gt will handle stuffs pretty good 1024 by 768 most games maxed out :).
just google am2 versus core2duo.. am2 is no performance gain proccy from AMd with practically less than 10% performance gains from the older amd’s which i’m using a opteron .. 🙂
what i mean if u were in the market for a budget thing am2 isnt the thing but a venice overclocked at its maxed wud have been better ,… if u sold out quite a little bucks u cud well got a core2duo pc….nonetheless this will run fine 🙂
congrats on ur purchase.
the harddisk is 7200.9 seagate? or 7200.10 seagate? both r good.. 🙂 but the 7200.10 comes in 320 gb package…
the hdd maybe western digital too very reliable.
how much u paid for the proccy and which mobo?
