Last night at the Mead Carney Art Gallery in London flying legend Eric “Winkle” Brown launched his new book Too Close for Comfort which details many of his near misses and close escapes, each illustrated by artist Michael Turner. The original paintings were auctioned off in aid of the Fly Navy Heritage Trust and Eric auctioned off one of his prized possessions, one of his flying helmets which reached an amazing £20,000! All in all over £65,000 was raised for the charity.

I’d be surprised it it was, deep discounting is done in the book trade on high-volume mass-market titles, not high-price specialist publications.

You neglected to mention the little matter of the price, £150 a copy for the cheapest edition!
