New Facebook page for 388th Bomb Group book

I posted about my new book ‘A Bomber Crew Mystery – The Forgotten Heroes of the 388th Bombardment Group’ (Pen & Sword) back in June. The book is now available on Amazon UK and in September in the US. Copies can be shipped from the UK though.

As I am now shamelessly promoting this book (!), please see the latest stories on https://www.facebook.com/authordavidprice/
or search for the title above. There’s also a webpage that has a Facebook link to it http://www.388thbombercrew.com/

I jest of course about the promotion, the writing of the book continues to draw in new material and photos, most never before published and from private photo albums and collections. The book only focuses on two crews of 1944, but many characters and actions surround the story. I’m very aware that, just as time passes, memories fade and what is left are the testimonies related to children and relatives. Please visit and like the Facebook page and if you have any 388th Bomb Group links please leave a message too. Every contribution welcome.

As I am a UK writer, the book is a reflection from our side of the Atlantic on the events of 70 years ago. It all started when I found an engraved wine cooler in 2014 with the names of two B-17 crews on it, Johnnie Colburn’s crew and Dong Ong’s crew. The search started to find them and their relatives. It took 2 years, but the book shares the story.

But, the story is not finished in that I still receive emails, messages and photos almost on a daily basis at times. I’m going to try and share this information via the FB pages in the coming weeks and months and hopefully give relatives a chance to contact each other too.
